A Sustainable Future
Because we care about our team, our community, and the planet we all share, we make decisions with the environment in mind. Our sustainability strategy focuses on three areas: how we source, food conservation and mindful packaging.
Menu
We’re proud of our menu because we make our food choices with intent. The ingredients we select are usable in multiple dishes, ensuring nothing is needlessly tossed. We partner with food suppliers who are focused on sustainability and source local when possible. Our menu is 80% plant-based and the animal products we do use are sourced responsibility. We use OceanWise (trademark or logo) seafood, which is caught locally whenever possible. In fact, our tuna is fished sustainably by small boats off the coast of Vancouver Island.
Food Conservation
We’re proud that our overall food waste is less than 1%, putting us well below the industry average of 10%, but we're still striving for zero. To minimize our food waste, we invest in training our team members to prepare food with conservation in mind. Whenever we have leftovers, we work with Vancouver Food Runners to repurpose them into meals for those in need.
Packaging
Our packing has always been compostable and recyclable, but we’re always exploring ways to reduce our plastic use. We use glass jars and have a jar and ice pack return program—just leave your ice packs and jars out for your driver to collect on your next delivery day.
